Shape the sound

A free master Fade, plus seven Pro audio filters.

Open and close any take with a smooth fade — free, always available. Then reach for the seven Apple-native audio filters when you want to shape how it sounds. Everything applies in a fixed chain order, so the same input always produces the same output.

Looking for Time Stretch, Pitch Shift, or Reverse? Those moved — they live in the Editor now as range operations (apply them to any pair of markers, not to the whole file).

Master fade

Free

A clean fade in. A clean fade out. Four curves to choose from.

Anchored to the start and end of the file — that's what "fade" usually means. Each side has its own duration (0–10 s, capped at half the file) and its own curve. Open with one shape, close with another. Tap the first 5% of the waveform to jump straight to the fade-in editor; the last 5% opens the fade-out.

Logarithmic

√x

Default — feels natural to the ear.

Default

Linear

x

Technical, predictable, even slope.

Exponential

Soft start with a long tail.

S-curve

3x² − 2x³

Smoothstep — gentle in and gentle out.

Audio filters

Pro

Seven processors. Apple-native. No third-party plug-ins.

Every audio filter is a thin wrapper over Apple's AVAudioUnit — same DSP code that ships on iPad. Stable, fast, and small. Stackable on any range. All seven are part of the Pro unlock, applied to range operations chosen in the Editor.

EQ — per instrument

7 presets + Custom

Frequency curves tailored for Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Voice, Generic, or fully custom bands.

Compressor

Intensity 0–100%

Tames peaks and lifts quiet passages. A single dial — sensible defaults under the hood.

Noise Gate

Threshold + ratio

Mutes the silences between phrases. Cleans up breath noise and ambient hum.

Limiter

Pre-gain 0–12 dB

Brick-wall ceiling. Prevents clipping while letting you push the loudness comfortably.

Reverb

3 presets

Small Room, Medium Chamber, Large Hall. Native AVAudioUnit reverb — adds space without mush.

Delay

Time, feedback, mix

From subtle slap-back to long ambient trails. Three knobs, no surprises.

Isolation

iOS 16+, experimental

Source separation — attempts to isolate the lead instrument or voice. Results vary by source; treat as a best-effort tool.

Filter chain

The order is fixed — and that's a feature.

Stack several filters on one range and they apply in this order — the order you see in the interface — not the order you picked them. Compressor before or after Reverb changes the result, so the order is fixed for you: clean and repeatable. Same input, same chain, same output.

Stages you don't use are skipped. The chain itself never reorders. Master fades are applied on top of the final render, after every range chain resolves.

Presets

Nine one-tap starting points.

Built-in presets layer the audio filters with sensible defaults — one for each typical recording scenario. Tap, listen, tweak the dials if you want. Custom user presets are coming in a future update.
